Welcome to our family run practice! Dr. Carl Kimbler joined the practice in 1997, and Carl’s passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery inspired his daughter to pursue a career as an Oral Surgeon as well. Upon graduation, Dr. Kirsten Kimbler joined her father’s practice to make Northern Plains Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery multi-generational family practice.

Dr. Carl Kimbler, D.M.D., M.D.

Dr. Carl Kimbler, originally from Key West, Florida, received a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry at University of Florida. He then went on to attend University of Florida College of Dentistry and received his DMD degree. Carl served in the Air Force as a dentist. He trained at University of Nebraska Medical Center Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. He received a Medical Degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

When Carl is not working he enjoys biking, photography, and endurance horse rides.

Dr. Kirsten Kimbler, Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon at Northern Plains Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Performs Wisdom tooth removal, dental implants and IV sedation.

Dr. Kirsten Kimbler knew from a very young age she wanted to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon like her father. She started her love for science at South Dakota State University, and completed a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She then attended dental school at University of Florida College of Dentistry where she received her DMD degree. She trained at University of Nebraska Medical Center Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. She received a Medical Degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

When Kirsten is not working she loves doing outdoor activities like running, hiking and rock climbing.
